Bros - I owe you nothing

Are project task was to work on music video we were given. We had to work in groups on each video then splitting are groups into editing groups. Are group worked on the song Bros - I owe you nothing. The music video was hard to make due to the song coming out in the 1980s.

Our group started to gather ideas. The idea was to create a story to the lyrics when sung. We connected a scene to either a chorus or vesrse of the song. Firtly we started the estblishing shot of the college to show the setting. then straight cut to a long shot of both characters. We had straight cut to parts were the lyrcis go in time with the song.  For example the biscuit crumbling goes with the lyric " i watch you crumble". We used the reverse effect on the line ' I see you standing' to make it look more fun. We then used a guitar prop for the guitar solo and done alot of jump cuts between each solo part.

What i have learnt from this video is the editing after filming. I have learnt to use different effects to make the music video look better. I had also learnt organinsing cuts to go with the song lyrics whcih was a challenge. The planning helped me alot with structure, knowing which scene is coming up was very useful while working on this project.

This is one of my favourite stop motion music videos which shows a story in her dream, using the bed and other items as props.

Camera work - The camera is placed above, a long shot is established. The camera s placed above to show all the animation. There are close up shots of the women at the start.

Editing - The lighting is a great part in the video which gives the effect of a story going from day to day. The stop motion is amazing using the bed as a canvas for creativity. The stop motion is quick to make it look like the women is moving.

Mis - en - scene - The props such as pillows, blankets etc, help create a story while the women is on her side. The women is dressed up in pyjamas to show she is dreaming. I like how the music and props work together to tell a story. The props appear relating to the lyrics when sung.

Daft punk - Around the world

Camera work - I like how the establishing shot shows the whole scene, with flashing lights in the background, playing with the music. I like the use of pan around the room to show all the dancers dancing. The panning round the room shows all the dancers at different angles. I like the use of medium to close up shots of different parts to show more of dancers.

Editing - I like the use of straight cuts to different angles and views. The cuts go from close up, to medium shot and long shot to show different parts of the dancers. The cuts are very quick to show alot of parts in the music video. The quick cuts make the video more appealing and fun.

Mis-en-scene - The costumes are the best part about the video, from robots to mummys make the video fun. The circular stage is to represent the world. I like how they use the lights in the backround to flash to the beat of the song. I like the dance moves which go in order to make it more fun.

Delta Heavy - Get By (Official Video)

Camera work - What i like about this camerawork is how it goes from one game to the other, showing close ups when the games are getting destroyed. There isn't much camera work involved only a medium/long shot on the games.

Editing - I like how this music uses stop motion to create the music video. The stop motion is edited to play along with the music. The stop motion effect makes the music play along with the games in a stylish way. The stop motion also make the video look fun and make the toys (hippos) seem real with stop motion. There are straight cuts between each board game with an medium close up shot.

Mis-en-scene - I like how the video uses board games to play with the music. The selected board games are ones i used to play in my childhood, which makes me like it more. The backround is plain to make the board games stand out more.
